I picked up 3 new Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams at Sephora yesterday, swatched here. I wanted to try out a look using one of the eye colors and the cheek/lip today. Came out fairly nice so I figured I'd do a quick FOTD!
I used the MUFE Aqua Cream in shade #2, steel and the peachy pink with gold flecks in #12 on my cheeks and dabbed on lips over a lip balm (which most likely broke down the aqua cream, it's quite drying anyhow).
Here's everything I used:
My skin continues to be freaking out and I layered on my Neutrogena sheer liquid sunscreen and two coats of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel because it is so dry and flaking. Over that, I put the LORAC protecTINT in Dare to Bare which is a very sheer tinted moisturizer. A month ago, I would need to put on the LORAC over the sunscreen and I would be quite dewy. I sparingly applied concealer from the Laura Mercier Undercover pot in shade 1, dryness means I can't use much without highlighting any remaining flaky skin bits.
On the cheeks I used the MUFE in 12, blended out along my cheekbones and slightly up into my temples - staying away from the apples of cheeks since I tend to have a lot of natural redness there and into my nose. I applied NARS Laguna bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks, blending downward toward my jaw and up slightly on to my cheekbones. I also applied a bit around my hairline and into my temples. I have a rather generous forehead so I like to contour a little bit up at the hairline. :) Lastly I used NARS Albatross on my cheekbones and swirled up a bit into temples; also dabbed Albatross a bit on to my cupid's bow after applying lips products.
Eyebrows I used what has become my everyday brow routine, Urban Decay matte eyeshadow in Shakedown (standard brownish gray taupe). I used the MUFE cream in 2 on my lid and blended slightly into and above crease. Tightlined and applied to upper and lower lashlines with Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Flipside. I love using teals/turquoise liners, brightens up my face and eyes and is easypeasy. Felt it was still looking a little dark so I used a Wet n Wild Color Icon white eyeliner in the corners of eyes and blended inward a bit into the Flipside. For brow highlight, I went with the Maybelline Cool Effects shadow/liner pencil in Peach Daiquiri.
On the lips, I used Burt's Bees lip balm first -- whenever I sit down to do my makeup, I put some on my lips so they will hopefully be ready for a color lip product by the time I've made it to lips. I dabbed on some of the MUFE cream in 12, but it was looking a little crusty, too many dry flakes on lips despite the balm. I put on some more lip balm, but since it is a matte finish it made it look even worse. :) I grabbed my Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Designer Label since it's a nice glitter peachy gloss over the top and it can blur out any lip.. issues. I had lunch and coffee before taking pictures, the gloss is still sticking around and I think the MUFE cream had broken down being sandwiched between all the other layers.
And the last thing I always do before walking out the door is mascara. Put on my L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black on upper and lower lashes.
I think in the end it came out looking pretty warm, dewy and summery. Looking forward to trying out the copper shade next!
