My Palest Foundation Swatches | Very Fair / Pale Skin | paleandfreckled

Hey guys, I wanted to round up all my very pale / fair foundations to hopefully give everyone a starting point if they're feeling overwhelmed with options. Foundation is big business these days and the number of very pale options has exploded in the past year or so. While there's still not a ton of options, compared to a few years it's vastly more. I did two groupings, one on each arm and then I talked for what felt like forever with both arms stuck in one spot awkwardly while I waited for them to dry. I also picked up a foundation yesterday that swatches extremely pale though seems to possibly warm up a bit on the face. I did a super quick swatch picture and stuck it in the video (and here) but I'll be testing it more.

For reference, my best color matches are Colourpop No Filter Foundation in Fair 05 (not set with a powder), Smashbox Studio Skin Hydrating Foundation in .1 and Clinique Even Better Foundation in CN 0.5 Shell. I am 38 years old, combo dry/oily skin with noticeable pores, creasing in my smile lines and have issues with foundation settling into my pores.

This first grouping are shades that can look too light/white on my face. I generally need a little more warmth. Sometimes these look okay, sometimes not. If I set it with a powder like my favorite NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder Pressed using my damp beauty sponge it can definitely make it appear lighter as well.

Swatched left to right:
  • Milk Makeup Blur Liquid in Porcelain
  • Too Faced Born This Way in Cloud
  • Idun Minerals Nordic Veil in Jorunn
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear in 0N1 Alabaster
  • MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin in Y205
  • NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop in Pale
  • Colourpop No Filter Foundation in Fair 05
  • Cover FX Power Play Foundation in N0
  • Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation in N0
  • Colourpop No Filter Concealer in Fair 02 - dry swatch picture only, my lightest concealer that isn't white

The second grouping of swatches has more foundations that match me, things that have a little more warmth to them generally. I've listed these right to left since that's the order I talked about them in the video.

Swatched right to left:
  • Cover FX Power Play Concealer in N Fair 1 - my current favorite concealer
  • Colourpop No Filter Foundation in Fair 02
  • Colourpop No Filter Stix in Fair 02 W (obviously not very pale but this is my first time swatching it so I wanted to include it as it's a good shade+ darker/warmer than the liquid)
  • Smashbox Studio Skin Hydrating in .1
  • Clinique Even Better Foundation in CN 0.5 Shell
  • Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation in 100
  • Models Own Runway Matte Foundation in Porcelain (no longer available at Ulta)
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless in 102 Fair Porcelain (darkens more than most)
  • Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation in C0.5
  • Flesh Firm Thickstick in Froth (non-shimmery highlight can used also for mixing to lighten other sticks)
  • Colourpop No Filter Concealer in Fair 02

And last but not least, I picked up the new Hard Candy Glamoflauge foundation in Ivory at Walmart yesterday and it swatches so light I had to include it in a little quick phone swatch picture. FYI this is a doe foot applicator similar to the new Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation. These swatches are dry. In this picture you might see a little shine on the Hard Candy, it's a rather strange almost plastic feeling film finish but totally dried down and set. I'm wearing it today and it doesn't look stark white so I'm curious to test this more.

Swatched left to right:
  • NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop in Pale
  • NEW Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Ivory (only .67 fl oz /  20ml FYI!)
  • Too Faced Born This Way in Cloud
  • Colourpop No Filter Concealer in Fair 02 (on the bottom)

I'll include a link to the video once it's up!
